A random thought for you...?

Okay, so this is reallllllly random and you may be totally uninterested in it, but I saw it and it made me think of you and I though "Hey, why not?!"

There is a company called Compassion International, which allows you to support a child around the world for a monthly donation, yada yada.... It's a christian organization and it isn't gimmicky or weird or anything.  Your monthly donation goes towards things like food, shelter and education.

Anywho, I'm not trying to tell you to support a kid in Ethiopia or anything (unless you want to), BUT I was looking through their Christmas gift catalog and I saw a one time gift that might interest you:

For a one-time gift of $22, you can provide literacy lessons to a mother.  It will teach them to read and write, which will allow them to be able to teach their children and give them a greater chance at success as they grow up.  (Plus, I can just picture a mini-Laurie somewhere scribbling adventures and romance novels into a notebook...you could be supporting the next JKR!!! haha)

My favorite rides from our visit to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure!

I don't care how old and in need of updates some of these rides were. They were fun!

I guess the rumor is that they took this one out and will be replacing it with either a Hogwarts Express ride that will take you into WWoHP or an expansion of WWoHP for a Gringott's Bank ride. That's the rumor anyway! Still, RIP Jaws ride. I thoroughly enjoyed it!


Still one of my favorites from Universal Studios, mostly because this movie is one of my all-time favorites. Of course, my love for Bill Paxton has a lot to do with it as well.


I'm sure my reaction to the moment at 4:35 was priceless to you, haha I legit thought there was a malfunction and we were about to be squished!


I don't care, I thought this was pretty cool!


This. Was. AWESOME.


WHAT THE HELL?! This looked AWESOME!!! And they replaced it with that dumb Simpsons ride?! I can't fathom why they thought that was a good idea.


You know I hate ET. But I have to admit: this was a fun ride, especially 4:00... and then it turns into something from my nightmares.

I still want to hurl. I managed to find the moment where I wanted to yak: 2:05, and pretty much the rest of the ride from there. UGH.

It's a wonderful interview! But if you don't want to sit and watch the full hour, at least fast-forward to around 11:50 in the video because she reads an excerpt from Philosopher's Stone/Sorcerer's Stone and it is lovely.
